Laura Stuart
Women's Ministry Leader
I have served as the Women's Minister since 2015, and graduated from Moody Bible Institute with a Certificate in Ministry to Women. I have led community women's Bible studies since 2007 and have spoken at various women's events and Bible conferences both here and abroad. My husband, Don, and I live on a ridgetop where I love to garden and create beautiful knitted things.
What energizes you in ministry?
I am passionate about helping women not only develop a greater Bible literacy but to aid them as they also become excited and passionate about the Word of God. Seeing them deepen their relationship with Him and discover their own unique spiritual gifts is energizing! Listening to podcasts of other Bible teachers, reading books that equip me for ministry, and daily Bible reading feed my energy for ministry. Having a core group of women who lead alongside me is imperative for the support of and accountability to one another.
How do you spend your free time?
My husband and I love to discover new areas of the country, spend time together in the kitchen, and, well, just be together. I love to garden, knit, spin my own yarn, cook, preserve food, and read mystery and police procedural novels.
Is there a Scripture that is personally significant to you?
So many! One that has been consistent through the years is Colossians 3:17, "And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him."
If you could travel anywhere in the world for a week, where would it be?
As of right now, I would list the gardens of Great Britain. They seem to be able to grow anything with little effort or trouble, which is completely different from the poor, thin soil on my ridgetop!
